Singapore Airlines and Tourism New Zealand sign three-year joint
marketing agreement

SSingapore Airlines and Tourism New Zealand have signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly develop and promote tourism to New Zealand on Singapore Airlines' services. The MoU will come into effect from January 1, 2010. Under the agreement both parties will jointly explore and implement activities to boost tourist arrivals to New Zealand via Singapore Airli nes’ services between Singapore and both Auckland and Christchurch. The partnership will complement the activities each party already has in place to promote New Zealand.

Singapore Airlines and Tourism New Zealand have each agreed to commit NZD two million over three years to fund joint activities. These include marketing and tourism campaigns in priority markets and familiarisation programmes for consumer media and travel agents from Singapore, China, India, UK, Germany and France.

Singapore Airlines established its presence in New Zealand in 1976 with twice-weekly Boeing 707 services to Auckland via Sydney. Today, the airline operates daily Boeing 777 flights to Christchurch and 12 times weekly flights to Auckland,
